Venting

0 min read
It has been a hard last couple of months. Pressure is building up, I needed to vent stress or risking some serious health problems. I took the notebook on friday, I did some sketching and drawing, and the result was so-so. Now on Saturday, inspiration got to me. As Picasso used to say, "I wake up early in the morning and start doing things, so in case the inspiration comes, I'm already working". That was what happened. I just finished one drawing, and without putting down the notebook, I began sketching the next. No pause, no "I'll go to pee and let this rest for a while". It hit me between the eyes. The same character I had just drawn, figh

Simplifying?

0 min read
Lately I've had less time to draw than I would want to. The result of this has been trying to simplify my drawings. I've liked animation all my life, and I grew up reading european comics like Tintin, Asterix, Spirou... just to mention a couple of my favourites. I read my first "Avengers" comic-book when I was 10~11 years old. It had the Avengers, plus the Human Torch, going to put out a fire in a chemical facility. There was a villain named "the chemical man" or something like that, and the heroes finally managed to defeat him (actually, it was the Wasp who took the bad guy out, if I'm not mistaken). I was captured by the heroism, the specta

The last 6 months have been a rush. Since my daughter was born, I've had only a couple of hours available for drawing, but I think I've made the most of them. A couple of sketches, and a full page (pencil + inks). The page was done from scratch to inks in about 12 hours, which isn't bad. Considering it had been more than a year since I last draw a whole comic page, it isn't bad at all. Not surprisingly, the times when my skill is better are those times in which I'm so saturated with the rest of my life that when I grab the pencil is like breaking a dam: everything flows down, from my brain to the paper. My daughter is doing real fine, too.

thank you for watching my gallery, glad you like my work and maybe feel inspired by some images :)

have a nice day! :)
You're welcome. I like some of your stuff, specially the caravan sketch and the capsule robots :)
Happy birthday!
Love your drawings! Do you do them just because? Or is it for something inparticular?
Well, mostly because I need to vent my stress. I seldom have time to draw anymore, but last Saturday I was too stressed out, so I began doing this. Yeah, it's been a couple of days that I've been up late after work and after putting my daughter to bed, drawing, but it was worth it.

I usually take inspiration in my RPG characters (in this case, the girl is my character in an Eclipse Phase game, but the cyborg was done in the spot).

I wish I could work full time as an artist, but I don't even have the time to put a book together, and the last comic book page I drew was almost a year ago. Right now, the only time I have for myself is my night hours. After going to sleep at 2:30 for three days in a row, though, I'll say this is not an optimal solution.
Damn. I'm sorry to hear that :( Well I really hope things work for you in the long run
